What the little yogis will learn:
Having fun and being silly are a great way to invite kids to connect with one another! The Little Yogis program offers a gateway for introducing yogic concepts such as asana, pranayama, and mindful meditation. We’ll use reading, art, music, movement and more to explore self-expression, increase strength/flexibility, release energy, and learn how to relax.
1. Mindfulness of Heart
Using the book I am Peace we will explore our emotions and feelings, how to identify them and how they live in our bodies.
2. Mindfulness through Movement
Exploring through crafting and movement, we will further investigate our magnificent bodies through space and movement.
3. Mindfulness of Breath
Breath is a POWERFUL tool. We’ll breath like dragons and whispers to explore how our breath can be an integral tool in our every day lives!
4. Mindful Senses
We have some incredible senses in our bodies. Using taste (we will pre-determine any allergies), touch, smell, sight, hearing we will explore our senses and how to be present with them.
5. Practicing Present Awareness
Returning to our book, I Am Peace we will explore meditation and use crafts to experiment and explore what awareness means.
6. Mindful Planet
Being a yogi means understanding our interdependence. We will discuss and use yoga to understand how we are all connected and why it’s so important!
