Psoas Release Party
Saturday, March 10th
2p-4:30p

The focus this afternoon is on relieving tension along the deep muscle group that responds to our stress. The power of the psoas can have you in fight mode when you don’t intend to. When the illiopsoas is released there’s more fluid breathing, bounce to our step, we stand taller, experience inner calm and better digestion.

Time will be spent learning the anatomy, locating the muscles in your body and working on movement exercises aimed at releasing, lengthening and toning. Come for hip opening like none other!

Perfect for teachers and students. Perfect for students who have experienced low back pain and hip imbalances.

As a side note: I (Shannon) highly recommend doing the Apprenticeship program that Sara offers if you are an established teacher looking for more in your teaching. You can learn more through her website here: http://www.abalancedpractice.com

Sara’s bio: Sara began her regular practice of hatha yoga and meditation when she was 18 years old and just beginning college. Recognized in Chicago as an accomplished yoga teacher, Sara’s resume also includes teaching yoga in Japan for 2 years, online yoga classes, international retreats and has assisted master teacher trainings and immersions. In 2004 she was initially certified by the White Lotus Foundation of Santa Barbara, CA and in 2009 was initiated as an Anusara Yoga teacher.

Always a student, Sara annually studies with her teachers Noah Mazeand Darren Rhodes. Since 1999 Sara has been studying classical yoga philosophy and took up interest in Tantra in 2006. Sara receives her yoga dharshana from Christopher Hareesh Wallis, Christopher Tompkins and Douglas R. Brooks.

Throughout the year Sara works to evolve her teaching strategies in workshops, retreats, intensives and guest spots to local teacher trainings. In 2016 she was the guest key note speaker at the Radish Yoga Fest in Rock Island, IL. She formulates content for these events as if she was a curious student attending. Thorough investigations are plotted out in these courses and, in general, are accessible to a mixed level of students and teachers.

Sara is blessed to share life with her husband Todd, and daughters Celeste and Autumn. She loves to cook, hike, read and craft. Catch her on yogavibes.com, in the studio at Yogaview in Chicago or as a contributor to Conscious Living TV.
