We have some incredible class offerings at Practice Indie, and cannot wait to share them with you! The goal of assigning levels to each class is so that you the practitioner know exactly what to expect out of your experience. This keeps everyone safe, prepared and provides the best possible experience for all practitioners.
Beginner Student: Beginner are designed for those who have had no previous exposure to yoga, but are eager to learn and start experiencing the amazing benefits of a yoga practice. The beginner student needs slow-paced direction and a great level of detail so they can become familiar with basic yoga poses and use of the breath.
Level 1: Level 1 classes are designed for those who have had some exposure to yoga, including an introduction to basic yoga poses, breathing techniques and proper alignment. The experienced beginner student would like to explore their practice deeper and begin to become more familiar with poses and use of the breath.
Level ½: Level 1/2 classes are designed for those who have a good understanding of the basic yoga postures, and have begun to explore a wider variety of poses and styles. You will be expected to know chaturanga, upward facing dog, downdog, tree and warriors I and II. This level student understands the relationship between breath and movement, and is willing to explore more challenging options via mind, body and spirit.
Level 2: Level 2 classes are designed for more experienced yogis with a very solid understanding of basic yoga postures who are comfortable performing more advanced poses. The level 2 student practices yoga regularly and has begun to master connection of breath with movement. You will be expected to know chaturanga, crow, the warriors, tree and the beginnings of headstand and handstand.
Level 2/3: Level 2/3 classes are designed for an experienced yogi with a solid understanding of basic and intermediate yoga postures who are comfortable performing more advanced poses. The level 2/3 student practices yoga regularly- and has for years- and is in deep pursuit of yoga as a lifestyle. You will be expected to know all basic postures plus be able to execute headstand, shoulder stand and handstand.
Level 3 No Holds Barred : Level 3 classes are designed for the experienced yogi who is ready to explore the depths of the physical, spiritual and mental practices of yoga. This class is permission ONLY and recommended for teachers, or practitioners who have been practicing for 5-10 years. Be willing to take high stake risks and challenge your body, mind and spirit to the limit.
