Rachel started doing yoga consistently in 2013 when she was looking for a way to exercise that didn’t involve running. She realized that yoga not only challenged her body, but her mind as well. In May of 2018 she completed her e-RYT 200 with Practice Indie. She originally did her yoga teacher training to deepen her own practice, but over the course of the 4 months with her amazing teachers and BAGG (badass girl gang) she realized how much she wanted to share her teaching with others.
In her own practice, Rachel utilizes props in almost every class she takes, even if it’s just a bolster under the knees for savasana. She is passionate that props can be used by yogis of all levels to enhance or deepen their practice, and aren’t something to be afraid of! She hopes that people leave her class having learned something new, whether it is pose related, or more importantly (in her opinion), something about themselves.
Rachel loves an organized/color coded calendar, but whenever she has spare time, Rachel likes to sew, play board games with her family, or is out on the ice as a member of the Circle City Curling Club (Yes…Indianapolis has a curling club!)
